Renovation of S/S Robert January 2000

A lot of things have happened during the last year although not many changes can be seen onboard yet. Most of the renovation has taken place in a nearby carpentry.

EldluckaThe fire door has been mended. The shutter consists of two plates that are riveted together with an appropriate distance between them. What remains to be done is to build an air inlet shutter in the middle and an ash door.

Hyttsegment It has been said earlier on this site but I have a distinct feeling that NOW the cabin is almost finished. All segments have been manufactured and painted at least once. As soon as the weather gets warmer we plan to mount the cabin onboard. Finally Robert will look like a real steamtug!

... and this is what it looks like on the inside. The wheel with teeths on it was missing so we have made a new one. It gives the handle distinct positions and also helps to ring a bell when the handle is operated. A housing has also been made. This part of the telegraph is to be fitted in the cabin and will be connected to the other end of the telegraph (fitted in the engine room) with wires. Telegraf kugghjul
